Dive Bag & Scuba Luggage Buyer's Guide

Backpack Dive Bags and Luggage

Backpack dive bags have straps like a regular backpack. They make a great choice for hands-free transport to and from the dive boat. Backpack dive bags are available in mesh, sturdy canvas and even as dry bags.

Mesh dive bags allow gear, fins and wetsuits to drain all of that water out. This prevents mold and mildew from setting in inside of the bag. The EVO Deluxe Mesh Backpack Dive Bag is made out of heavy-duty mesh and PVC-coated nylon. Other features include padded contoured straps, a reinforced bottom and a side handle. A drawstring closure and a large full-length side zipper provides easy retrieval of gear. Mesh material helps your gear dry faster, and, after a dive, you can rinse your gear through the bag if you're feeling lazy.

The Osprey Transporter line offers bags that can be carried as a backpack or as a duffel bag. Made out of 840D nylon, these bags are abrasion and weather-resistant. With a zippered end pocket, a large U-zip main compartment and an internal mesh pocket to stow all of your gear and valuables. Regulators, fins, masks and dive computers will stay secure while traveling through airports or from the dock to the boat.

Dry Dive Bags and Luggage

Dry bags are a must for any diver, boater or watersports enthusiast. Phones, cameras, dive computers and documents stay protected from water, salt and other elements. Dry bags come in a variety of sizes from small enough for keys and a phone to large enough to hold towels and a change of clothes. There are even insulated cooler dry bags. Typically made from durable tarpaulin material, dry bags come in backpack, lanyard or over-the-shoulder styles and have a fold-and-roll-top design for watertight use.

The Osprey Ultralight Drysack is an ideal choice for protection from water, sand, salt and humidity. It’s a hefty 30 liters in size, which can hold a large amount of electronics, camera equipment and other gear. It’s made out of 40D nylon ripstop waterproof fabric and has a roll-top with a buckle closure. The rectangular shape makes it easy to stow with your other items in the car or boat. Put Osprey's reputation for bulletproof durability between your precious gear and the elements!

Duffel Dive Bags and Luggage

Duffel dive bags are long and rectangular in shape. They can often hold more items than any other type of dive bag. This is very useful for packing, unpacking and when you only want one bag to tow back and forth. You’ll have everything with you in one place on the boat. Some duffel-style bags have interior pockets, which helps with storing small items. They come in mesh, hard canvas and dry bag fabrics.

Roller Dive Bags and Luggage

Roller dive bags are the best choice for traveling divers to navigate through airports, parking lots and hotels. They are very similar to traditional wheeled luggage in looks. What sets them apart from other luggage is that they often have special compartments to hold fins, masks, regulators and other dive gear along with your clothes and toiletries. Other features could include extending handles, exterior and interior pockets and grid systems to clip gear on the outside. Retracting wheels are a great feature as some dive boats won’t allow rolling bags on deck.

We love the Osprey Roller Transporter 120, a wheeled duffel bag with plenty of space for all our dive gear that's still compact enough to maneuver through a crowded airport terminal, and rugged enough to see you through four years (and counting!) of around-the-world travel.

Tote Dive Bags and Luggage

A tote dive bag is perfect for snorkelers, freedivers or hookah divers who don’t have a lot of bulky gear. Long shoulder straps, zippers and large openings make stowing and retrieving quick and easy. Some are made of water-resistant fabric that can handle wet clothes and gear after the dive. The Yeti Camino Carryall Bag has a crossbar handle, in addition to shoulder straps, for easy transport. It also has a rigid EVA-molded bottom, a puncture-resistant shell and a Hitchpoint Grid System on the outside to clip gear, keys and other lightweight items. The Thickskin laminated extra can be hosed off for super easy clean-up.

Regulator Dive Bags and Luggage

Specialty bags keep your gear, like regulators and dive consoles, secure and protected from scratching and bumping against other gear in a large bag. They often have soft linings, interior pockets and Velcro straps to stash all of your valuable equipment. The ScubaPro Regulator and Computer Bag Duo has shoulder straps, padded handles and double sliding zippers for comfort and easy access to your gear.

We offer a large selection of dive bags and luggage to handle any adventure you might have.
